Debut winner Pacific Avenue aims to provide Godolphin with a fourth victory in the G3 Solario Stakes at Sandown Park, UK, on Saturday, 30 August.

Subsequent Derby winner Masar is the highest profile royal blue winner on the roll of honour, while Darley stallions Raven’s Pass and Too Darn Hot have also used the seven-furlong contest as a springboard to greatness.

Dubawi colt Pacific Avenue, who is out of G1 winner Lumiere, showed a good attitude on his only start to date for Charlie Appleby as he gamely denied stablemate Wild Desert by a head at Newmarket in June.

The form of that novice has proved strong with Wild Desert finishing third in the G2 Superlative Stakes and all three other horses in the race going on to subsequent wins.

Charlie Appleby said: “The novice that Pacific Avenue won has worked out well and he has come forward since that run. We felt this was a nice progression into G3 company and, like most of the field, we are trying to find out what sort of horse we have heading into the autumn.”
