Mise En Rose, Come Alive & Switching aim for G3 success

Three-year-old fillies Mise En Rose, Come Alive and Switching seek a first victory at G3 level in the Prix de Lieurey over a mile at Deauville, France, on Monday, August 15.

Mise En Rose (Charlie Appleby/William Buick) stayed on to take second on her latest start in the seven-furlong G3 L'Ormarins Queens Plate Stakes at Goodwood, UK, on July 29 and comfortably won a Newmarket handicap over the same distance on July 8.

Come Alive (Andre Fabre/Mickael Barzalona) ran well to finish a close eighth in the mile G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches at Deauville in May and most recently recorded a game short-head success in the seven-furlong Listed Prix Amandine at Maisons-Laffitte on July 4.

Switching (Andre Fabre/Pierre-Charles Boudot) was withdrawn from the G3 Prix Chloe at Chantilly on July 10 after refusing to load into the stalls, having previously finished fourth at the same course in a Listed contest over nine furlongs on April 24. The daughter of Street Cry started her season with a comprehensive win over the same trip in a maiden at Le Croise-Laroche in March.

A field of 15 for the Prix de Lieurey also features Trixia, a G3 winner over the course and distance last season, G1 Prix Saint-Alary fifth Magnanime and Prix Chloe second Chartreuse.

Charlie Appleby commented: "I have been pleased with Mise En Rose’s recent performances at Goodwood and Newmarket. She goes to Deauville having done well at home. Quick ground on a flat track will suit and I expect her to run well."

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “Come Alive has been doing very well since her victory at Maisons-Laffitte. There is a slight question mark over her staying the mile but we will see how she gets on.

“Switching can be a tricky filly and we hope that she will be on her best behaviour. She will get the trip well and we want her to have a nicer experience in the stalls so that she can get her season back on track.”
