Master Of The Seas has too much firepower in Canada

Racenews

Master Of The Seas continued the exceptional record of Godolphin’s UK raiders in Canada as he stormed to victory in the G1 Woodbine Mile on Saturday.

Eight of the last nine runners from Moulton Paddocks in the country have scored in top-level races, including Old Persian, Walton Street and Modern Games, who all went on to run at the Breeders’ Cup.

Master Of The Seas could now head to Santa Anita in early November and try to provide Godolphin with a third straight success in the Breeders’ Cup Mile, having missed the race in 2021 after being withdrawn at the start.

Dazzling Star, who is from the first crop of Blue Point, secured valuable G1 Black Type on the same Woodbine card when finishing third in a rough renewal of the Natalma Stakes. There was also success for Moulton Paddocks in the United States on Saturday as Eternal Hope flew home to take Aqueduct’s G3 Jockey Club Oaks.

Dual Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow registered his first winner as sire on the JRA circuit with Thunder Alert, who easily captured a dirt maiden at Nakayama on Sunday.

Kentucky Oaks heroine Pretty Mischievous will look to strengthen her position as the best three-year-old filly in North America when she goes for a fourth straight G1 in this Saturday’s Cotillion Stakes in Pennsylvania.

On the same day in Australia, Golden Slipper runner-up Cylinder will aim to continue an unbeaten start to his three-year-old season in the G1 Golden Rose, a contest won by Exosphere, Astern and Bivouac in recent years.
