half-brother to winners Modern News (6f 2yo; RPR 89) and Feminism (7f AW; 78); midfield over 7f at Haydock on debut in July 2021 but then won at the same trip when sent to Newmarket; close second (pair clear) under a 7lb penalty at Leicester in August and went one better in 7f nursery at Doncaster in September, winning readily; followed up in similar fashion in Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket, also over 7f and completed hat-trick in controversial circumstances in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (scratched in error but re-instated only to run for 'purse money'), but he picked up well in the race itself to win going away; clearcut winner of French 2000 Guineas at Lonchamp on next start in May 2022; sound effort when third from a bad drawn on ground that didn't suit (soft) in the French Derby at Chantilly (10.5f) in June; fair fifth in Group 1 Prix Jean Prat over an inadequate 7f in July; followed that with an excellent second to Baaeed in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes (1m) at Goodwood at the end of that month; impressive winner of Grade 1 Woodbine Mile when next seen in September and ran right up to his best form when second in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot (1m) in October; went one better when winning the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Mile in November; finished second of eight in Maker's Mark Mile Stakes at Keeneland on first start of 2023 in April; won his first Group 1 in the UK when taking the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in good style in May; below that level when fourth in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot.
