Tribalist denied close home in titanic G3 Prix Paul de Moussac

Racenews

Tribalist was collared in the shadow of the post by Erevann as the duo served up a tremendous finish to the mile G3 Prix Paul de Moussac at Chantilly, France, on Sunday, 19 June.

Farhh colt Tribalist, dropping down in class for Andre Fabre after finishing third behind Modern Games in the G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains, broke smartly and soon opened up a two-length lead over his three rivals.

Erevann moved up to challenge Tribalist two furlongs out, but the Godolphin runner responded gamely for Mickael Barzalona to maintain a narrow advantage entering the final furlong.

Both three-year-olds continue to battle all the way to the line, with Dubawi colt Erevann getting up in the final strides for a short-head verdict. Kalganov took third, a full six lengths further back.
