Flowrider & Crown Walk go after Chloe prize

Racenews

Three-year-olds Flowrider and Crown Walk try for a first G3 success in the Prix Chloe over nine furlongs at Chantilly, France, on Monday, 9 July.

Both fillies have performed well at a higher level already this year, with Flowrider (Andre Fabre/Mickael Barzalona) having come home a close fourth in the 10-furlong G1 Prix Saint-Alary at Longchamp on 27 May.

The daughter of Street Cry made a winning debut with an impressive display in a mile newcomers’ race at Saint-Cloud on 8 May.

Dubawi filly Crown Walk (Henri-Alex Pantall/William Buick) stayed on strongly from the rear to take second in the mile G2 Prix de Sandringham at Chantilly on 3 June and readily captured a Saint-Cloud conditions race over the same distance on 14 May.

A field of six for the Prix Chloe also features Listed runner-up Kodiak West and Longchamp maiden winner My Sister Nat.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “Flowrider ran a fantastic race on only her second start in the Prix Saint-Alary, when she gave the impression that a mile and a quarter might be just stretching her.

“Crown Walk stayed on very strongly at the end in the Prix Sandringham and her pedigree suggests that she will have no problem in stepping up to nine furlongs.

“This looked the logical race for both fillies and we hope that they can run well.”
