Victory Dance looking to extend G3 Tattersalls Stakes sequence

Racenews

Victory Dance bids to provide Godolphin, Charlie Appleby and William Buick with a third straight win in the G3 Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket, UK, on Thursday, 22 September.

La Barrosa and subsequent multiple G1 winner Modern Games both scored on their first Group-race appearances in the seven-furlong contest for juveniles.

In contrast, Victory Dance has already run well at G2 level, going down by a head to Isaac Shelby in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket’s July Festival.

The Dubawi colt had previously made a successful introduction on Newmarket’s July Course and steps back up in class following a straightforward success in the Listed Denford Stakes at Newbury in August.

Charlie Appleby said: “Victory Dance goes into this race in good order, with experience and some strong Group-race form under his belt. We are looking forward to him returning to Group company and feel he should be very competitive.”
