Tribalist dominates again in G2 Prix du Muguet

Racenews

Tribalist posted the biggest win of his career with another all-the-way success in the G2 Prix du Muguet at Saint-Cloud, France, on Monday, 1 May.

The Farhh colt had made the running when taking last month’s G3 Prix Edmond Blanc at the same course and once again dictated from the outset, establishing an early two-length lead over a strung out field.

Tribalist continued to enjoy himself in front and the Andre Fabre-trained four-year-old looked to have all six of his rivals in trouble with two furlongs to race.

He found plenty for Mickael Barzalona in the closing stages, holding on well to comfortably beat Facteur Cheval by a length and a quarter.

Louise Benard of Godolphin said: “Tribalist enjoys the mile at Saint-Cloud and was taking on much of the field from the Prix Edmond Blanc, so everything was there for him today. He has done very well from three to four and it was great to see him win again in that manner. Andre will decide where to go next but, depending on how he comes out of this race, the G1 Lockinge Stakes is an option.”
