Staying-on second for Sublimis in G3 Prix de Reux

Racenews

Improving four-year-old Sublimis ran another excellent race to take second on his first G3 outing in the Prix de Reux at Deauville, France, on Sunday, 9 August.

The Andre Fabre-trained son of Shamardal, who had won or placed on all four of his previous starts, settled in fifth of the eight runners for much of the extended 12-furlong contest. He stayed on well after being switched down the inside by Mickael Barzalona a furlong and a half out, getting up for second near the line to finish a length and a half behind Skyward.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “Sublimis ran really well and put up a brave performance again. He is progressing with every start and should shape up into a nice horse for the autumn and next year.”
