Saeed bin Suroor aims for super six in QEII

Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor will be relying on tough Thunder Snow to give him a sixth triumph in Ascot's G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Saturday.

Saeed's faith in this hardy campaigner has been unwavering in the past 12 months.

He has taken the three-year-old son of Helmet to race in five countries this year -- and from seven starts, the talented colt has won three times and only once been out of the first three.

Saeed's overriding hope leading up to Saturday's G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes has been that the ground would ride on the soft side, conditions that Thunder Snow prefers.

With the forecast for wind and rain, it seems those hopes will be realised.

"Any rain would help," the long-serving Godolphin trainer reported. "We gave Thunder Snow a break after Deauville, and he has been working well," he added.

Saeed first won the QEII with Mark Of Esteem (1996), and followed up with the champion Dubai Millennium (1999), Summoner (2001), Ramonti (2007) and Poet's Voice (2010).
