Organza the testing material at Gosford

Mike Hedge

The progressive filly Organza is ready to take her good recent form to Stakes level at Gosford, NSW, on Friday where she tackles a quality field in the G3 Belle Of The Turf Stakes.

“She’s improved out of sight this preparation and isn’t badly treated under these conditions,” said trained James Cummings.

“Her form last autumn was very promising and she’s run right up to it this time in.

“At the mile last start she was strong and she looks to have trained on really nicely.”

Organza meets some quality opposition at Gosford, including the G1-winning filly Aloisia, along with Sweet Deal who has won her past two in restricted company and the Stakes-place Zumbelina.

But the Godolphin filly is in receipt of 6.5kg from Aloisia and her form compares well with that of Sweet Deal.

After winning her first city race on 24 November at Rosehill, Organza finished a good second behind Tip Top with the well-performed Roman Son behind her in third place over 1600m at Randwick on 15 December.
