Mise En Rose goes for Sceptre glory

Mise En Rose returns to seven furlongs in the G3 Japan Racing Association Sceptre Stakes (13.55hrs local time) at Doncaster, UK, on Friday, September 9.

The Charlie Appleby-trained three-year-old filly posted two excellent efforts over the same trip on good to firm ground in July, comfortably winning a Newmarket handicap and taking second in the G3 L'Ormarins Queens Plate at Goodwood.

She came home eighth over a mile on her latest appearance in the G3 Prix de Lieurey at Deauville on August 15.

Charlie Appleby reported: "Mise En Rose has done well at home since her most recent run at Deauville.

"She has a liking for fast ground, so I am hoping the weather holds and we get conditions to suit on Friday.

"She ran a great race in G3 company at Goodwood and a repeat of that effort should see her be competitive"

Mise En Rose, with William Buick in the saddle and drawn seven, takes on six rivals including G1 Coronation Stakes second Nemoralia and H H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum’s Lumiere, who won the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes last year.

Also on Friday’s card at Doncaster, Yarmouth debut winner Salsabeel (Charlie Appleby/William Buick) steps up to Listed level for the seven-furlong Weatherbys Stallion Book Flying Scotsman Stakes (16.15hrs local time).
