Mickael Barzalona crowned Champion Jockey in France

Mickael Barzalona claimed the French jockeys’ championship for the first time following the conclusion of the season on Friday, 31 December.

The Godolphin rider secured the Cravache d’Or after a superb 2021 that yielded 192 wins, including notable victories in the royal blue silks aboard Philomene, Victor Ludorum, Fleur d’Iris, Magny Cours and Egot.

Mickael Barzalona said: “It’s extremely rewarding to count a Cravache d’Or amongst my career accomplishments, and to see my name alongside so many great jockeys is a source of pride to both me and my family.
