Marking makes a second consecutive appearance at Belmont Park, USA, as he drops down in class and trip for the seven-furlong G3 Belmont Sprint Championship on Saturday, July 9.

The Kiaran McLaughlin-trained four-year-old, a G1 runner-up over seven furlongs at Santa Anita in December, kept on to finish fourth behind runaway winner, his stable companion, Frosted in the G1 Metropolitan Handicap over a mile at the same course on June 11.

The son of Bernardini started this year with three dirt appearances at Meydan, UAE, including another fourth in the G2 Godolphin Mile on March 26 and a decisive win in a six-furlong handicap on February 21.

Jose Lezcano takes the ride on the Bernardini colt, who breaks from stall nine and opposes eight others headed by multiple G1 winner Private Zone and Metropolitan Handicap runner-up Anchor Down.
