Lady Montdore bids for further Saratoga success in Glens Falls Stakes

Racenews

Lady Montdore looks to build on an impressive US debut on her return to Pattern company in the 11-furlong G2 Glens Falls Stakes on turf at Saratoga on Saturday, 1 September.

The Tom Albertrani-trained four-year-old stormed to a four and a half-length victory in an allowance race over the same course and distance on 6 August, her first appearance for 11 months.

Lady Montdore had previously made five appearances in France, including a 12-furlong maiden success at Saint-Cloud and a close third in the G3 Prix Minerve over half a furlong further at Deauville.

Manuel Franco takes the ride on the Medaglia d’Oro filly, who is set to face seven rivals including Woodbine G2 scorer Santa Monica and Onthemoonagain, runner-up to Sobetsu in last year’s G2 Prix de la Nonette.

Tom Albertrani said: “Lady Montdore ran a very good race on her US debut, which has given us a lot of confidence ahead of the Glens Falls Stakes.

“I liked her going into her latest run but she was very, very impressive. She showed so much potential that we feel she fits in well at this level, particularly over this distance.”
