Jack Hobbs, who was injured in the G2 Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket in April, is back in light work in preparation for a return to the racecourse in September.

Godolphin's G1 Irish Derby winner was pulled up by jockey William Buick over two furlongs from the finish when failing to stretch out. He was found to have sustained a stress fracture to his pelvis.

Trainer John Gosden has given an encouraging progress report about the son of Halling. "Jack Hobbs is trotting and moving well, and he is being pointed towards a return in September," Gosden told the Godolphin website.

The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly in October is a logical back-end target for Jack Hobbs.
