Inns Of Court and Jimmy Two Times meet again in Prix de la Porte Maillot

Racenews

Inns Of Court and Jimmy Two Times line up in the G3 Prix de la Porte Maillot over seven furlongs at Longchamp, France, on Saturday, 30 June.

The pair, both trained by Andre Fabre, met in the G3 Prix du Palais-Royal over the same course and distance on 2 June, when Inns Of Court was the length and a quarter runner-up with Jimmy Two Times a neck further back in third.

Inns Of Court (pictured above) made his seasonal debut in the Prix du Palais-Royal. The four-year-old colt enjoyed an excellent 2017 campaign which included two G3 victories over seven furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte and Deauville, plus a short-head second in the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois over a mile at Deauville. Pierre-Charles Boudot partners Inns Of Court for the first time.

Five-year-old horse Jimmy Two Times has had three appearances so far this year. Prior to his third in the Prix du Palais-Royal, he was the length and a quarter second in the G2 Prix du Muguet over a mile at Saint-Cloud on 1 May and third in the G3 Prix Edmond Blanc over the same course and distance on 2 April.

Jimmy Two Times won both his starts in 2017, taking the G3 Prix Edmond Blanc plus the G2 Prix du Muguet. Regular rider Vincent Cheminaud has the mount.

The four other starters in the Prix de la Porte Maillot are Karar, fourth in the Prix du Palais-Royal, and G3 scorer Aladdine plus the Listed winners Lida and Efaadah.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “Inns Of Court and Jimmy Two Times are very well. They have both come out of the Prix du Palais-Royal in good form.

“Inns Of Court will be having his second start of the year on Saturday and we are hoping for a bit of improvement from him. Conditions should be perfect for him and we are expecting a decent performance.

“The ground may be a shade on the fast side for Jimmy Two Times, but he has been a model of consistency this year.”
