Headgear for 'Hobbs' in Sheema

J A McGrath

Godolphin's Jack Hobbs is to be fitted with blinkers for the first time when facing six rivals in Saturday's Longines Sheema Classic on World Cup night at Meydan.

The G1 Irish Derby winner of 2015 will be having his first outing since finishing an honourable third to Almanzor in the G1 Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot in October.

Jack Hobbs, a son of Halling, has won four of his nine starts - being only once out of the money, when sustaining a stress fracture to his pelvis in the G2 Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket in April last year.

The new headgear was listed in the official program published by the Emirates Racing Authority.
