G3 third for Magical Touch at Saint-Cloud

Racenews

Magical Touch gained some valuable G3 Black Type when coming home third in the Prix Belle de Nuit over 14 furlongs at Saint-Cloud, France, on Saturday, 26 October.

The four-year-old filly, a Listed winner over the same trip for Henri-Alex Pantall at Hoppegarten, Germany, in August, was held up in last of the six runners by Mickael Barzalona.

She progressed to third as the field tacked across to the stands’ rail at the top of the straight and briefly pressed for second entering the final furlong. The daughter of Dubawi kept on in the closing stages to finish just under seven lengths behind Monica Sheriff, who won in 3m19.81s on heavy ground.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “Magical Touch ran very well and rounds out her season with a Listed win and a G3 placing, which is a great achievement. Henri-Alex Pantall has done very well with her and she will now retire to become a broodmare.”
