G2 Prix du Conseil de Paris bid by Soleil Marin

Soleil Marin drops back down in distance for the G2 Prix du Conseil de Paris over a mile and a half at Chantilly, France, on Sunday, October 15.

The three-year-old colt, trained by Andre Fabre, kept on to finish fifth over three furlongs further in the G2 Prix Chaudenay at the same course on September 30.

Soleil Marin previously raced over shorter distances, including when enjoying a head success over Akihiro in the G3 Prix Noailles over an extended 10 furlongs at Chantilly in April.

Ridden by Mickael Barzalona, he takes on three rivals in the Prix du Conseil de Paris – last year’s winner One Foot In Heaven, G3 scorer Akihiro and G1 Prix Vermeille fourth Traffic Jam.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “Soleil Marin came out of the Prix Chaudenay in good form and Andre Fabre is very happy with him.

“We would ideally like to see a little bit more cut in the ground, but this trip should suit and we hope that he can run a good race.”
