Wild Pansy second in G3 Premio Ambrosiano

Racenews

Wild Pansy added some Italian G3 Black Type to her page as she was promoted to second in the Premio Ambrosiano at San Siro on Saturday, 27 April.

Twice a Listed runner-up in France last season, the Henri-Alex Pantall-trained filly raced in a close sixth down the inside rail for the majority of the 10-furlong contest.

Having travelled strongly into the race in the straight, Wild Pansy showed a good turn of foot under Tony Piccone to dispute the lead down the centre of the course a furlong and a half from home.

German G2 winner Best Of Lips took up the running entering the final furlong and readily went clear, with Mythico swooping late to deny the Godolphin filly for second in the final stride.

Mythico was subsequently demoted to sixth, meaning Wild Pansy, Lord Sakay, Acheso and Flag’s Up all moved up a place.
