Spy Chief sets sights on G2 Hungerford Stakes

Royal Ascot runner-up Spy Chief steps back up to seven furlongs for the G2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury, UK, on Saturday, 16 August.

Trained by John & Thady Gosden, the Kingman three-year-old finished a clear second over the same distance in the G3 Jersey Stakes at the Royal meeting in June.

Spy Chief was an easy winner over six furlongs at Yarmouth earlier the same month and returned to sprinting on his latest outing for the G1 July Cup at Newmarket’s July Festival, in which he was beaten less than three lengths in seventh.
