Rome bids by Powder Snow & Pabouche

Henri-Alex Pantall sends a couple of three-year-old fillies to Capannelle Racecourse in Rome, Italy, on Sunday, October 23, including Powder Snow, who steps up markedly in class for the G1 Premio Lydia Tesio (17.05hrs local time) over 10 furlongs.

The daughter of Dubawi got up on the line to prevail by a short-head in a Cologne Listed race over nine and a half furlongs on September 25 and came home fifth on her only previous Pattern appearance in the G2 Prix de Sandringham over a mile at Deauville in June.

Aurelien Lemaitre, successful on Powder Snow at Cologne, takes the ride again and the pair tackle 10 rivals including Turkish G2 winner Blond Me and Newmarket Listed scorer Laganore.

Pabouche, who is also by Dubawi, goes in the mile G3 Premio Ribot Memorial Loreto Luciani (15.50hrs), having gained two victories over the same distance this year, including when running on strongly for a decisive success in Listed race at Hanover, Germany, on September 18.

She faces seven others, including German G2 winner Kaspersky, and is partnered by Aurelien Lemaitre for the first time.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: "Powder Snow was visually quite impressive when winning on her latest start, even though the margin of victory was quite small.

"The step up to a mile and a quarter will help and, while it is obviously a big step in class, she is in great form.

"Pabouche is running out of options this season and is taking on colts in this race. She won nicely last time out and heads to Italy in good order."
