Paris Lily hoping to bloom in G3 Delaware Oaks

Paris Lily looks to follow up a hugely promising first Graded Stakes appearance when she tackles the G3 Delaware Oaks at Delaware Park, USA, on Saturday, 14 June.
The Brendan Walsh-trained three-year-old was collared close home to go down by three-quarters of a length to Margie’s Intention in last month’s G2 George E Mitchell Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico.
Successful in a Churchill Downs maiden in November, Paris Lily started her season with two allowance optional claimer appearances, finishing second at Fair Grounds in February before winning at Keeneland’s Spring Meet.
Michael Banahan, Director of Bloodstock, Godolphin USA, said: “Paris Lily had a very nice breeze last Sunday and appears to be coming into the G3 Delaware Oaks in great shape. Brendan has been happy with her since her big run in the Black-Eyed Susan.
“She will have the winner of that race to try and beat again, although it’s another good opportunity to try to secure a Graded win for her. We expect that she will run well, and Joel Rosario is flying in for the ride.”
