More G3 Black Type for Broderie in Germany

Racenews

Broderie finished third for a second time at G3 level in Germany this year with a battling effort in the Grosser Preis der Landeshauptstadt Dusseldorf over an extended mile at Dusseldorf on Sunday, 29 September.

The four-year-old filly, who filled the same position for trainer Henri-Alex Pantall in the seven-furlong G3 Grosser Preis der Landeshaupstadt Dresden in June, raced in fourth towards the outside of the seven-strong field under Vincent Cheminaud.

Broderie stayed on to hold every chance approaching the final furlong but could not go on with Kronprinz and was passed by Ninario on the line. Kronprinz won by four lengths in 1m 46.55s on soft ground, with Ninario coming home a nose in front of the Godolphin filly.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “Broderie finished an honourable third and we will have discussions about what to do next with her. She has done very well this year and will make a wonderful addition to our broodmare band, whenever that might be.”
