Messidor Third By Territories

Territories was a never nearer third in the G3 Prix Messidor over the straight mile at Maisons-Laffitte, France, on Sunday, July 17.

The four-year-old Invincible Spirit colt was held up last of the five runners by Mickael Barzalona.

The Andre Fabre-trained Territories moved right to come with a run and kept on strongly in the final furlong, just failing to gain runner-up spot.

Vadamos, whose time was 1m 35.10s, won by three lengths from Mr Owen, with a short-neck back to Territories.

John Ferguson, Godophin Chief Executive and Racing Manager, said: "Mickael thought it was a good run by Territories, who finished well.

"We will see how he comes out the race before making any plans."
