Kementari to target G1 Manikato at Moonee Valley

Mike Hedge

Trainer James Cummings has this morning confirmed plans to run Kementari in the G1 Manikato Stakes at the two-day Moonee Valley meeting starting Friday, 26 October.

Kementari has run well in four starts this time in, the best of them a close second to Humidor in the G1 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield last month and is likely to be seen in blinkers in the Manikato.

“Kementari has really enjoyed himself over the past month since arriving back from Melbourne,” Cummings said.

“He’s building up in condition and looks like a horse that’s really enjoying his training.

“We’re happy with how he looks, his body-language is excellent and his trial this morning was one of a horse who can be competitive anywhere over 1200m at WFA.

“We’ve experimented with blinkers and we’ll be aiming towards the Manikato next week.”
