A proven ability to handle the Moonee Valley track and a talent for racing well when fresh support the prospects of Holler in the G2 Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley on Saturday, January 23.

Holler returns to Moonee Valley for the first run of his latest preparation after having won brilliantly at the Melbourne track at his most recent start on October 24.

In that race, Holler (John O'Shea/Craig Williams) took up the running from the start and proved a class above a handy field of three-year-olds, winning the G3 Red Anchor Sakes by four lengths.

"It's a big factor in his favour that he's had the experience at Moonee Valley," said assistant trainer Darren Beadman.

"We bought him home to Sydney after that run and he's had a nice rest and a hit-out in a barrier trial last month to keep him up to the mark.

"The conditions of the race suit, it looks a good race to kick off the Autumn for him."

As well as his last-start win, Holler has good form around some classy performers in a record that includes two wins and four placings from his seven starts.

In his only other appearance in Melbourne he finished second to the quality colt Mahuta who has since won the Magic Millions Guineas.

Before that he was third behind his stablemate, the G1 sprinter Exosphere and the well-performed Press Statement at G2 level at Rosehill.

"There's nothing wrong with his form," Beadman said.

"It's a matter of how he handles the step up to open company against some older horses. But he has a couple of kilos in his favour under the weight-for-age scale."

Holler is to be ridden by Craig Williams who takes the rides on Godolphin's other three Moonee Valley runners, Monogram in the Think Big Stud Handicap, Inner Circle in the Hille's Home Extensions Handicap and Calaverite in the Cube Finance Handicap.
