Last time out winners Complacent and Magic Hurricane bid to continue their fine form in the Group Two Ascend Sales Trophies Hill Stakes over a mile and a quarter at Royal Randwick, Australia, on Saturday September 19.

Complacent (John O'Shea/Sam Clipperton) made all to beat Kermadec by a length and a quarter in the Group Two Tattersalls Club Chelmsford Stakes over a mile at Royal Randwick on September 5.

The five-year-old was almost carried off the course when 12th in the seven-furlong Group Two Pro Ride Warwick Stakes on his first appearance for almost two years on August 22.

He was among Australia's leading three-year-olds in the 2012/2013 season, winning three times including the Group One Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes over 10 furlongs at Royal Randwick.

Magic Hurricane (John O'Shea/James McDonald) steps up to Group company for the first time after running on bravely for a nose success in the nine-furlong Listed Premier's Cup at Rosehill Gardens on August 29.

He was third in a seven-furlong handicap at the same course on August 15 and made two handicap appearances at Royal Randwick, including a comfortable victory over seven furlongs in June.

John O'Shea commented: "Complacent is coming off a last start win and from gate 13 will roll forward and get into the race.

"He looks to get a similar run here on the outside of the lead in a race where there does not appear to be a lot of speed. He is in great order, has trained on well and has had one run over the 2,000 metres for a Group One win. There is no reason why he won't continue to race well here.

"Magic Hurricane is the progressive horse in this race, although the issue for him going forward is his capacity to cope with weight-for-age form.

"He has trained on well and should get a beautiful run in the race. From gate five, he should be a pair or two back, one-off the fence and hopefully get a good run. This will lay a foundation for his next race assignment which will be the Metropolitan (Group One, October 3, Royal Randwick)."

Complacent and Magic Hurricane line up against 14 others including Sydney Cup runner-up Who Shot Thebarman, 2013 Doomben Cup winner Beaten Up and last year's victor Junoob.
