Grand day out for El Cordobes at York

El Cordobes stretches out to a mile and three-quarters for the Listed Grand Cup at York, UK, on Saturday, 14 June. 

An impressive winner of a handicap at Newmarket’s Guineas Meeting, the four-year-old acquitted himself well in G3 company on his latest outing when coming home third in Newbury’s Aston Park Stakes. 

Trainer Charlie Appleby said: “We think that stepping up to a mile and six furlongs will hopefully see some improvement on what El Cordobes has achieved so far. He has produced solid efforts on his last two runs and goes here in great nick. We are hoping that this might open a few doors going forward.”
