Dawn Delivers & Mary Tudor up in class for Debutante Stakes

Racenews

Two-year-old fillies Dawn Delivers and Mary Tudor step up to G2 level for the Debutante Stakes over seven furlongs at the Curragh, Ireland, on Sunday, August 20.

Dawn Delivers (Jim Bolger/Kevin Manning) came home third in the G3 Silver Flash Stakes over the same distance at Leopardstown on July 27, having previously made three six-furlong maiden appearances, including a half-length success over Magical at the Curragh on July 16.

Mary Tudor (Willie McCreery/Billy Lee) has her second start after battling well to go down by a head to Magical in a Cork maiden over a mile on August 8.

A field of eight for the Debutante Stakes features Silver Flash Stakes winner Happily, Listed Chesham Stakes scorer September and Magical.

Jimmy Hyland of Godolphin commented: “Dawn Delivers has come forward for her third in the Silver Flash Stakes and we are hoping that she can take another step up.

“Mary Tudor ran a very nice race at Cork, when she finished five lengths clear of the third home. Willie McCreery has always liked her and is expecting her to run well.”
