Blue Point aims for return at Meydan

Blue Point is to miss Saturday's G1 British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot and is finished for the season, trainer Charlie Appleby reports.

The winner of the G3 Bengough Stakes at Ascot last start will be sent to winter in Dubai and be prepared for the G1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan on Dubai World Cup night in March.

"Godophin have Harry Angel in Saturday's race, and it's no good having him and Blue Point banging their heads together at this stage," Appleby said.

"Blue Point will be trained ultimately for next year's G1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot," he added.
