Alarm call for Innovative Idea

Innovative Idea continues her tour of US racecourses as she heads to Belmont Park on Saturday, October 29, in search of a second G3 success in the Turnback The Alarm Handicap (14.34hrs local time) over an extended mile on dirt.

The Eoin Harty-trained four-year-old has raced at six different tracks so far this year, most recently when coming home third in the G3 Locust Grove Stakes over the same distance at Churchill Downs on September 17.

She gained a half-length success in the mile G3 Groupie Doll Stakes at Ellis Park in August and also captured the non-graded Iowa Distaff Stakes over half a furlong further at Prairie Meadows in July.

The Bernardini filly started her year with three appearances at Tampa Bay Downs and also made G3 outings at Keeneland and Arlington Park in the Spring.

John Velazquez takes the ride for the first time on the 8st 7lb top-weight, who breaks from stall four and meets on six rivals headed by G1 Mother Goose runner-up Lewis Bay.

Eoin Harty commented: "Innovative Idea has travelled everywhere this year and I feel that she is in the form of her life at the moment.

"It rained prior to her last run, which made the track muddy, and it was a little bit tiring as a result.

"I think she has improved since then and she heads to Belmont Park in great order."
