Having secured the Group 3 Premio Dormello on an easy surface in Italy for German-based handler Andreas Wohler as a juvenile, the daughter of Zinaad proved a revelation for Saeed bin Suroor, staying on strongly to win the Group 1 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket, allaying fears that she'd find the trip and quick ground against her; breeding suggested she wouldn't come into her own until tackling middle-distances and so it proved, as she gained a memorable all-the-way success in the Group 1 Epsom Oaks; having overcome a foot abscess which ruled her out of the St Leger, she bounced back to her brilliant best in taking the Grade 1 Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes at Belmont Park in September 2002; after retiring to the paddocks, she produced Group 1 winner Eastern Anthem; she died at the age of 14
