Wuheida lame — misses Keeneland

J A McGrath

Wuheida has been forced to pull out of Saturday's G1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland after developing a corn in her right fore foot.

Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby has pulled the plug on this first scheduled American engagement for the filly, who will remain in the States and be shipped to Del Mar for the Breeders' Cup.

"She was lame this morning and she will have to miss Saturday's race," Appleby reported. "It's unfortunate, but she should be right to resume full training soon for Del Mar," he added,

Wuheida won the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac in October last year to remain unbeaten after two starts as a juvenile.

She has finished in the frame in all four starts this season without winning. She was fourth in the G1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown and a last start fourth in the G1 Prix de l'Opera at Chantilly.
