Victoria Cup assignment for Silent Attack

Silent Attack makes his second appearance of 2018 in the valuable Victoria Cup Heritage Handicap, staged over seven furlongs on turf at Ascot, UK, on Saturday, 12 May.

The five-year-old, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, made a winning start to the year when the comfortable winner of a seven-furlong handicap on Polytrack at Lingfield Park on 14 April. 

Silent Attack finished out of the frame in three starts at Meydan, UAE, in 2017, but showed a good level of form in 2016, winning twice at a mile and taking the runner-up spot in the G2 International Topkapi Trophy over the same distance at Veliefendi, Turkey.

Silvestre De Sousa takes the ride for the first time at Ascot, with Silent Attack drawn 19 of the 29 runners and set to carry 9st 7lb.

Saeed bin Suroor explained: “Silent Attack is in good form. 

“He has been working nicely and it was a good comeback from him at Lingfield last time out. 

“Seven furlongs is a good trip for him and we will see how he gets on.”
