Tornado Alert second in G3 Hampton Court Stakes

Tornado Alert continued his fruitful campaign as he gained a first G3 placing when filling the runner-up spot in the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot, UK, on Thursday, 19 June.
The Too Darn Hot colt, dropping down in class after finishing fourth in the G1 2,000 Guineas and sixth in the G1 Derby, disputed third leaving the stalls before moving up to race in a three-quarter length second behind Trinity College after the first quarter-mile.
Trinity College and Tornado Alert filled the first two places throughout the 10-furlong contest, with the Saeed bin Suroor-trained runner unable to go with the leader after he kicked for home in the straight.
Tornado Alert stuck to his task, going down by three and a quarter lengths, with Glittering Legend a further length back in third.
Saeed bin Suroor said: “Tornado Alert ran well to finish sixth in the Derby, and now second in a nice race here is good. He is an improving colt and we will look for another G3 race for him.”
