Terebellum edged out again in G1 Falmouth

Racenews

Terebellum was narrowly denied at G1 level for a second time when coming home a close third in a blanket finish to the Falmouth Stakes over a mile at Newmarket, UK, on Friday, 10 July.

The John Gosden-trained filly, who was beaten a head in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes over the same distance at Royal Ascot in June, was immediately sent to the front of the six runners and soon opened up a two-length advantage over Nazeef.

Terebellum continued to travel sweetly in front and was asked to win her race by Frankie Dettori passing the two-furlong marker. The four-year-old stayed on well but was headed on both sides by Nazeef and Billesdon Brook near the line go down by half a length in total.
