Star Of Mystery chased home Frost At Dawn as the three-year-old fillies dominated the finish to the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint Sponsored By Emirates Skywards at Meydan on Saturday, 2 March.
Having broken on terms, Star Of Mystery was held up in last of the main group that came up the centre of the course, with Frost At Dawn leading three runners who elected to race down the far rail.
Star Of Mystery stayed on powerfully after being switched out by William Buick over a furlong and a half from home, taking up the running on her side approaching the final half-furlong.
Frost At Dawn meanwhile had kicked into a clear overall lead and the Frosted filly continued to find in front, seeing off the Charlie Appleby-trained Star Of Mystery by two and a half lengths in a course record time. Logo Hunter took third, a further length and three-quarters back.
Charlie Appleby said: “Star Of Mystery has run a solid race and I think we will still have a crack at the G1 Al Quoz Sprint on Dubai World Cup Night.”
