Skiffle back in action at the Curragh

Skiffle returns to racing in the G3 Snow Fairy Fillies’ Stakes (15.50hrs local time) over nine furlongs at the Curragh, Ireland, on Sunday, August 28.

The three-year-old Dubawi filly was last seen out when finishing fifth behind Minding in the 12-furlong G1 Investec Oaks at Epsom Downs on June 3.

Lightly-raced, Skiffle won the Listed Height Of Fashion Stakes over just short of 10 furlongs at Goodwood on May 19 and finished third on debut in a maiden over a similar distance at Ascot on May 6.

Trainer Charlie Appleby said: "I am looking forward to getting Skiffle back on the racecourse.

"She has done well for the break she has had since the Oaks and dropping back in trip on Sunday should be in her favour.

"The more the ground dries out, the better it will be for her. I have been very pleased with her progress at home."

Regular rider William Buick partners Skiffle, drawn five, who faces nine rivals including Investec Oaks fourth Somehow, G3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes scorer Epsom Icon and the progressive Adool.

Godolphin has two other runners on Sunday’s card at the Curragh.

Two-year-old Iffraaj colt Allography (Michael Halford/William Buick) makes his racecourse debut in the opening 12-runner Ladbrokes EBF Maiden (14.10hrs, drawn 1) over a mile, while the New Approach four-year-old Parish Boy (Jim Bolger/Kevin Manning), a Listed winner as a juvenile in 2014, has his first start for over 16 months in the Irish Cambridgeshire Premier Handicap (17.00hrs, 24 runners, drawn 7, 1m).
