Silver Knott runner-up in G2 Jockey Club Stakes

Silver Knott looks set for more international travel after he was collared inside the final furlong by Bellum Justum in the G2 Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on Friday, 2 May.
The Charlie Appleby-trained five-year-old, making a first UK appearance for two years, raced freely in a clear second for the majority of the 12-furlong contest as Divina Grace led the four runners.
Silver Knott moved up with half a mile to race before William Buick committed for home approaching the final quarter-mile, with the multiple G2 winner soon establishing a three-length advantage.
Bellum Justum closed strongly to head Silver Knott with just under half a furlong to race before going away to score by a length and a half. Silver Knott kept on in second, finishing six and a half lengths clear of Divina Grace in third.
