Regia Marina tries to master Presque Isle Downs again

Four-year-old filly Regia Marina returns to Presque Isle Downs, USA, for the G2 Presque Isle Downs Masters Stakes (19.15hrs local time) over six and a half furlongs on Tapeta on Monday, September 19.

The daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, representing Eoin Harty, quickened well for a decisive victory an allowance race over the same course and distance on July 18.

She returns to the Pennsylvania course on the back of a good third in the seven-furlong G3 Seaway Stakes, also on Tapeta, at Woodbine, Canada, on August 27.

Regia Marina was the easy winner of a six-furlong allowance race at Arlington Park on Polytrack in June.

The Godolphin contender, drawn eight and partnered for the first time by Pablo Morales, lines up against 11 fillies and mares in the US$400,000 contest, with last year’s winner Living The Life and Seaway Stakes second Elusive Collection set to provide the main opposition.

Eoin Harty reported: "Regia Marina has turned into a real All-Weather specialist and has proven herself over an extended six furlongs at Presque Isle Downs.

"She returns to the course in very good order and I expect her to run accordingly."
