Purrfect grabs third in G3 Belle Mahone Stakes

Purrfect secured some valuable G3 Black Type as she closed well to take third behind Souper Hoity Toity and Canadian Horse of the Year Moira in the G3 Belle Mahone Stakes at Woodbine on Saturday, 3 June.

The Medaglia d’Oro homebred, who had shown her affinity for Tapeta with a productive winter campaign at Turfway Park, raced in last of a tightly grouped field for much of the extended-mile contest.

Purrfect quickened down the inside rail to go fifth at the top of the straight and continued to make good headway under Ryan Munger, edging out Il Malocchio for third in the closing strides.

Souper Hoity Toity made virtually every yard to prevail by a neck over Moira, with three lengths back to the Michael Stidham-trained Purrfect.
