Prosperous Days after further Tokyo success in Unicorn Stakes

Racenews

Unexposed three-year-old Prosperous Days (Mitsugu Kon/Keisuke Dazai) tries for a third win at Tokyo, Japan, in the G3 Unicorn Stakes over a mile on dirt on Sunday, 17 June.

Both of the Hard Spun colt’s previous wins have come over the same course and distance, most recently when running on well to capture an allowance race on 27 May by three and a half lengths.

He also scored over at Tokyo on his debut in a newcomers’ race in November. Prosperous Days, making his fifth start, meets 15 other three-year-old colts on his Pattern debut including Great Time, Ryono Tesoro and Le Vent Se Leve, who have all won at Listed level.

Harry Sweeney, President of Godolphin in Japan, commented: “Prosperous Days is a two-time winner over a mile on dirt at Tokyo so we don’t have any worries in that regard.

“While he won snugly last time out, it will be his first attempt at either a Listed or Group race and seven of his rivals have already won or been placed in black-type races.

“We are more hoping for a good run from Prosperous Days rather than having any great expectations.”
