Pretty Mischievous second best in G2 Fair Grounds Oaks

Racenews

Pretty Mischievous was collared inside the final furlong as she finished second to Southlawn in the G2 Fair Grounds Oaks on Saturday, 25 March.

The Brendan Walsh-trained filly, seeking a hat-trick at Fair Grounds following victories in the Untapable and G2 Rachel Alexandra Stakes, raced in third behind Christian d’Oro and Hoosier Philly after breaking slightly awkwardly.

Hoosier Philly took up the running from Christian d’Oro rounding the far turn, with Pretty Mischievous easily countering the move to hit the front at the top of the straight.

Pretty Mischievous went clear but could not shake off Southlawn, who wore down the Godolphin filly entering the final half-furlong before quickening away to prevail by three and a quarter lengths.
