Moonlight Magic back at Leopardstown for Meld Stakes

Moonlight Magic goes after a second G3 victory at Leopardstown, Ireland, when running in the nine-furlong Meld Stakes on Thursday, July 20.

The Jim Bolger-trained four-year-old captured the Derby Trial over a mile and a quarter in May, 2016, and also ran well at same course when taking sixth in the G1 Champion Stakes, again over 10 furlongs, in September.

Moonlight Magic has made three appearances so far this year and kept on to finish third on his latest outing in the G3 International Stakes over a mile and a quarter at the Curragh on July 2.

Kevin Manning again partners the Cape Cross colt, who faces four rivals headed by G1 winners Deauville and The Grey Gatsby.

Jim Bolger said: “Moonlight Magic is very well and I am hopeful that he will run a very good race.”
