Maxfield to get 60 days off ahead of 2020 campaign

G1 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity winner Maxfield has had a mildly displaced chip removed from an ankle today by Dr. Bramlage at Rood & Riddle. He will have sixty days off before going to Brendan Walsh’s stable at Palm Meadows in preparation for a 2020 campaign.

Jimmy Bell said: “While it was obviously disappointing to miss the Breeders’ Cup, the welfare of the horse comes first and we brought him home for a full evaluation with Dr. Bramlage. We will give the horse all the time he needs before resuming what we hope to be an exciting season for him next year”.
