Innovative Idea out to maintain winning run

Innovative Idea goes after a third straight victory on Saturday, September 17 in the G3 Locust Grove Stakes (15.29hrs local time) over an extended mile on dirt at Churchill Downs, USA.

The Eoin Harty-trained four-year-old filly gained a breakthrough first G3 success when running on well to beat Emmajestic and Ahh Chocolate in the mile Groupie Doll Stakes at Ellis Park on August 6.

She also scored over an extended mile in the non-graded Iowa Distaff Stakes at Prairie Meadows on July 2.

The daughter of Bernadini, with Corey Lanerie in the saddle for the first time, tackles five rivals on Saturday including Ahh Chocolate, who won the G2 Falls City Handicap at Churchill Downs last year, G1 La Troienne Stakes runner-up Engaginglee and 2015 G2 Indiana Oaks runner-up Sweetgrass.

Eoin Harty commented: "Innovative Idea has put a couple of very good runs together and goes to Churchill Downs in excellent form.

"She has drawn widest of all in stall six, which is not the best over this trip at Churchill Downs, but this is a similar field to the Groupie Doll and she should run another good race."
