Home Of The Brave Heads To Goodwood

Godolphin's Home Of The Brave, originally ear-marked to be supplemented for Saturday's G1 Darley July Cup at Newmarket, is now to miss the race.

Godolphin's Home Of The Brave, originally ear-marked to be supplemented for Saturday's G1 Darley July Cup at Newmarket, is now to miss the race.

The Hugo Palmer-trained colt has suffered a slight setback but is expected to be right again for Glorious Goodwood at the end of the month, where the G2 Lennox Stakes and G1 Sussex Stakes are options.

Meanwhile, Jungle Cat will carry the Godolphin Royal Blue colours in the July Cup, with trainer Charlie Appleby looking forward to running the four-year-old back over six furlongs.

The colt's last four runs have been over five furlongs.

He finished fourth in the G1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. "I've been pleased with his progress since Ascot," Appleby said.

Profitable, the King's Stand Stakes winner trained by Clive Cox, is to be supplemented for the July Cup. The colt races in the ownership of Alan Spence but has been purchased by Godolphin to stand as a Darley stallion at the end of his racing career.
