Three-year-old colts Hauraki and Gouldian go after a first Pattern success in the 10-furlong Group Two Tulloch Stakes at Rosehill Gardens, Australia, on Saturday, March 28.

Hauraki (John O'Shea/James McDonald) ran on strongly to take second in the Group Two Cellarbrations Phar Lap Stakes over an extended seven furlongs at Rosehill Gardens on March 14.

The Reset colt trailed home last of 12 in the seven-furlong Group Three C S Hayes Stakes at Flemington on Saturday, February 21, and was sixth in a six-and-a-half-furlong conditions race at Sandown-Hillside on February 7.

He started his campaign with a pair of victories over seven furlongs, comfortably taking a Randwick handicap on November 8 and readily winning a maiden at Kembla Grange on October 25.

Gouldian (John O'Shea/Sam Clipperton) finished strongly to go down by a head in a mile handicap at Moonee Valley on February 27, having finished last of eight in a Sandown-Hillside conditions race over a furlong and a half shorter on February 7.

The son of Street Cry came home seventh to Preferment in the Group One AAMI Victoria Derby over an extended 12 furlongs at Flemington on November 1 and gained a nose success in a mile maiden at Warwick Farm on October 8.

John O'Shea commented: "Hauraki is probably our best chance of the day as he has been crying out for 2,000 metres. He got back into the game with a strong finishing second at his last start.

"He should get a beautiful run from gate seven and I will be very disappointed if he doesn't fight out the finish.

"Gouldian's work has been first class. He is a very fit racehorse and I couldn't be happier with him.

"From gate four, he will drop back and find a spot on the outside. He should be running home late and be right in the finish of this race."

Hauraki and Gouldian take on 13 opponents including unexposed handicap winner Caped Crusader, maiden scorer Omeros and Group Three runner-up Diamond Valores
